Can I get stuff like Cubase and Reason from Kazaa or is there a better way to get them without forking out the moolar?
Oh and which ones do people recommend to use on their own as a basic starter package?
Oh and finally can you use samples in them ie film samples from the net? If so how?
Cheers mangs :badteeth:

Ez Jibz,

I wouldn't use film samples from the net. They're not clean enough. You need DVD really.

it would be possible for one to use soulseek (www.slsknet.org) to download cubase sx2, reason2, fruity studio, soundforge, wavelab, halion etc.
not saying I've done it.

@ Fayd, that link doesn't work anymore :(
@ Philblunt Not to sound dense mate but how do I use that site then?
I've downloaded soulseek 152...then what? There's no links on that page to get hold of the sofware...or do I have to do a donation?

you were asking about tools recommendation . the best you can get for a start , with a great possibilities is undoubtly fruity loops pro . my opinion is that the best ver. is 3.56 (the newest is 4.* - but it lacks some helpfull options from prevoius ver. - and its getting more simple, commercial and "user-friendly" sacrificing great stuff ) . you can do your first beats there , quite fast and easy . as for soulseek - now this is a wonderfull tool . you can get almost everything when it comes to electronic music . tons of good shit. just install the ver/ log in /share some files /and hit "search files" (like "cubase install" for example if u were asking about that, but its mostly focused of music files- have that in mind ) that's all :) have fun - cheers . dude

You'll wait hours to get anything descent on soulseek. On Direct Connect u can log into specific hubs aiming at what your looking for. The link i gave on the above post only shares sound production progs and samples. If your online maybe i'll share some of my 80gb of samples and progs. I swear by cubase SX 2.2 and kontakt. give these a try. fruity is good for initalising ideas but after a while you'll relise it wasts time and becomes easier to sequence directly into cubase.

i dont know why you boyz so grizzle about slsk ?! i've downloaded tons of great stuff thanks to it . maybe you have to wait in a line sometimes : )) , maybe you are the 1267 person in line : )) , but no other prog can give you so much to offer when it comes to electronic music artists like d'n'b ie. and don't tell me you find as much in direct connect . anyway i'll try the link you gave MELODIZE . btw. what can you tell me more about cubase ? how about making some background long pads in real time ? is it possible to do such things in this soft? and just how much space does it eat on hdd?

They do exsist on Kazza, but if your having trouble, try using a program called BitTorrent or WinMX. also for samples type *.RFL in Kazza and it'll come up with thousands of refill files for reason! not worth it unless you have Broard band though! or go to www.reasonstation.net for legal samples.:crack:
