Hi all,

First of all I'll appologise for shoving this post on the main forum and not the producer-specific one, the reason for that is that this is a point so strong that I felt it had to be put here, if you don't like it ..........

Anyway, all those who are doing production work atm, don't you think that cubase is shit? be it vst 5, SX or whatever - it's crap! I mean okay you can use it to arrange blocks of music and add some basic shitty effects (I'm using sx), but what else can it do? Don't you all think that something like Fruityloops or Reason are much better as they are not just simple sequencers, they allow you to program patterns, create pretty phat basslines and play samples at any pitch.

Why the hell is Cubase costing loads loads more than these All Inclusive programs? So what if you can have VSTis, Fruity supports them too...
Help me bring down cubase I emplore you all!!

Go on then tech-heads give me loads of crap and say I don't know shit - you know you'd love to..

Peace, out...

why don't you use cubase and reason via re-wire and be done with it???

Cubase is far more midi orientated piece of software, designed really for the use with other hardware equipment. Reason, frutyloops are far more self contained, ideal entry level bits of software which are really easy to get to grips with. Even the likes of Skeptic use this program. If u start using more outboard gear then logic pro tools or logic are the platforms for u. Far more hands on. There's no right or wrong really, just see what ever program your using as a tool. Use it any way u want as long as u get the finished product your happy with.

I'm learning Cubase at the moment... I know what you mean!

I think its good to use combinations of software, but its all samples which make it...

Unless u got a fast enuff cpu, programs like sx or nuendo will run unstable, (latencys all over the place).
Try n use Reason 2.5 for sequencer and mods, but get yor sounds from da plug ins in sx or nuendo, and then export in 2 Reason.
plus try and get the latest sample cd's
